Sam Markus
Sam Markus is a 2022 graduate of Alma college (Alma, MI) where he majored in percussion performance. He has an extensive background in classical and contemporary percussion, jazz drumset, and both Scottish and American rudimental drumming. Prior to moving to Vermont he played with the grade 4 Alma College pipe band. As a recent addition to the Catamount Pipe Band of Montpelier, VT, he will both be playing in the grade 4 band and serving as playing instructor for the grade 5 band.

Scottish drumming is a dynamic, and unique part of Scottish Pipe Bands. It borrows elements from Swiss and American rudimental drumming, and blends it with traditional Scottish and Irish musical idioms.
