John Nowak

John Nowak has played the Highland snare drum with the Catamount Pipe Band since 2006. He has served as the lead drummer of the Grade 5 division for a decade, and is currently the Drum Sargent for the entire Catamount organization.  John also plays percussion in Vermont’s leading Celtic group, Stravaigin.  In addition to his passion for Celtic music, he is a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute and has been working in food services for 37 years. In this capacity, he serves as the Vermont Institute of Celtic Arts' Executive Chef.  He can often be found leading the drum corps at the Highland games or leading the kitchen team at our Burns Dinner.
