Mike MacNintch

Mike MacNintch began learning the pipes in 1977 from Pipe Major Avery Head of the Syracuse Scottish Pipe Band. In 1986 he joined the Manchester Pipe Band of Connecticut, under the direction of Pipe Major Chuck Murdoch. Mike also directs the Stephen P. Driscoll Memorial Pipe Band of Carmel NY and instructs the Police Pipes and Drums of Waterbury CT.  He is also heavily involved with Bagad New York, a Breton music ensemble, and the Catamount Pipe Band.

Mike has an extensive knowledge of Scottish, Irish, and continental bagpipes.  He was instrumental in the North American Scottish Smallpipe revival of the 1980s.  Mike was the official Chieftain of the 2019 and 2022 Fort #4 Highland Games.
